June is Pride Month in Ireland and other countries. It’s a month-long celebration of inclusion and diversity and of the contributions of LGBTQ+ members of our community.
One of the major events of the month is the Dublin Pride Parade, taking place in the city centre on June 27th. Pride is always one of the most energetic, joyous fun days of the year in the city centre.
This year’s theme for Dublin Pride really resonates with us at Sanctuary Runners – the theme is One Story, Many Voices. The parade describes its theme this way: “it’s about the thread that connects us across time, across borders, across very different lived experiences.”
We love that!
At Sanctuary Runners we celebrate many voices from many different places, and although our members have many different stories they are united in Solidarity, Friendship and Respect.
We are looking forward to participating in this year’s Dublin Pride Parade with other community groups and adding a little dash of Sanctuary Blue to the cacophony of colour on the streets of Dublin. If you are part of a Sanctuary Runners group, we would love to have you join us on the day.
