Leaving a Footprint for Solidarity
The third annual Global Solidarity Run will take place across the world on Sunday, October 11th, when people in 100 countries+ will wear blue and take part in a physical activity to show their solidarity with all those who are forcibly displaced or living in extreme poverty.
An initiative of the Sanctuary Runners, the Global Solidarity Run is supported by Irish Aid, the Department of Foreign Affairs of Ireland, the Ireland Funds and the European Commission Representation in Ireland.
Hundreds of events will take place across the globe – this year the initiative will begin and finish in Kenya but will reach every corner of the planet – with a major event to be held in Dublin on the day (more details to follow).
This year’s Global Solidarity Run will bring the Sanctuary Runners movement together with partners such as the GAA – International, the London Marathon Foundation, the Olympic Refuge Foundation, UNHCR, World Athletics, Sport Ireland and Athletics Ireland as we build our biggest and most impactful Global Solidarity Run to date.
