Sanctuary Runners has joined five other charities from across Ireland to receive funding as part of the PTSB Community Fund 2025.
At a Permanent TSB Charity Partner Luncheon in Dublin the charities, chosen as partners in 2025 after an online public ballot, were told they would receive €45,000 each in funding.
Half of the funding was raised by PTSB employees in branches right across Ireland. PTSB Head Office matched all funds raised.
Sanctuary Runners CEO Anna Pringle was at the big reveal in Dublin last Thursday (January, January 29th) along with fellow Sanctuary Runner Monica Pumpkin.
Reacting to the announcement, she said: “This means so much to us. We’re just so grateful to the team at PTSB. This funding will help Sanctuary Runners to support our groups across Ireland and start more at a time when community integration has never been more needed. We’ve had a great relationship with PTSB for a number of years now and are so grateful to them for supporting our work.”
The funding follows a public vote in which Sanctuary Runners was shortlisted in the South and East region, and is part of PTSB’s wider commitment to supporting local communities across Ireland. Sanctuary Runners is a multi-award-winning solidarity-through-sport organisation that brings people together through running, jogging, and walking. Since 2018, more than 40,000 people have participated in Sanctuary Runners activities, building community, promoting wellbeing, and fostering inclusion. The six chosen charities to benefit were the Sanctuary Runners, Breakthrough Cancer Research, The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust, Women’s Aid, Accessible Counselling Tullamore and Cystic Fibrosis Ireland.
