REGISTRATION & BAGGAGE
RUN NUMBER COLLECTION
In order to take part in the event you will need to collect your race entry number. This can be collected on the morning of the race from 09:45am until 10:45am at the registration tents located adjacent to the start area.
You will get a text message to the number you provided with your race number the evening before the run and should have this message/the run number to hand when you come to the registration tent. If you do not get a message, do not worry – we will have the names and numbers posted up for you to see close to the registration tent.
Because of the number of participants in the run, it is not possible to provide changing rooms. There will be a limited baggage storage area. Please place your bag in the area allocated to your number where it will be in safekeeping until you recover it after the run. This area may not be covered from rain.
For security purposes, you will be required to show your run number in order to recover your bag. Under no circumstances should you leave valuables in your bag. While the organisers will make every effort to ensure a safe event, no responsibility can be accepted for loss or damage to personal items.
A blue Sanctuary Runner T-shirt will be available to those who are joining a Sanctuary Runners event for the first time.
Normal runners will be fine on the course. You may of course wear spikes if you wish.
GETTING READY TO RUN
It is recommended that you commence your individual warm-up approx. 45 mins before the start time. This is to allow time for access to the toilets, access to the baggage area and to get to your assembly zone in a timely manner. Your warm-up should include some light jogging and stretching. It is important to warm up the working muscles especially if the weather is cool.
There will be toilet facilities close to the start and finish line.
The assembly area is adjacent to the start line which will be clearly marked by the start gantry. All runners, walkers and joggers will gather at 10:50. Runners and those in the chip-timed race should assemble at the front, followed by joggers, walkers with buggies at the back.
Please print the following information clearly on the reverse of your run number/bib:
- Name and contact number to be used in case of emergency
- Medical Conditions
Pin your number to the front of your t-shirt with the safety pins provided.
The course will be 2 laps of a 2.5km cross-country loop. The surface will be grass and trail and may be wet and muddy. Directional arrows and marshals will be in place to guide you along the route.
You can choose to walk to run just one lap if you like (although chip-timed racers should do both laps to be included in the race and to get a result).
St John Ambulance will be providing medical cover for this run. If you have an on-going medical condition please make yourself known to a member of the St John Ambulance on site on the morning before the run commences. The medical centre will be located adjacent to the finish line.

CAN MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY COME TO SUPPORT ME?
Yes. Supporters are welcome and there are several points along the course where they can cheer and encourage you!
AFTER YOUR RUN
AT THE FINISH
After you cross the finish line please keep moving and follow the instructions of the marshals who will direct you to where you will receive your finishers medal and food.
Water will be provided to each participant after you finish the run. ‘Refill’ will provide reusable cups and water stations and you can bring your own reusable bottle and fill it also.
ARE THERE PRIZES?
There will be prizes for the first woman and first man across the finish line. This year, in seeking to make the event more environmentally sustainable, we do not have participants’ medals.
As soon as you have exited the finish system, please recover your left baggage from the designated area. Remember you will need to produce your run number in order to recover your baggage.
FOOD AND FUN
After the run / walk, we will celebrate together with food and hot drinks provided and a DJ on site! We come together in solidarity, friendship and respect to enjoy a festival atmosphere.
We encourage all participants and spectators at the Cross Country Track to exercise the highest respect for this fantastic amenity, and to dispose of any litter by using the facilities provided on the day or by bringing your litter home with you. Please adopt a “leave no trace” policy when exiting the campus.
PHOTOGRAPHY & FILMING
Photography and filming will take place at this event. In registering for the event, all participants granted permission to the event organisers, sponsors and promoter to take, use and publish photographs and videos for the event. Supporters and volunteers may also be photographed or filmed as part of the event.
Anyone participating in the chip-timed race will receive their individual result by email after the event (later on Sunday). Anyone participating in the fun run/walk should take note of the clock when finishing to record their own time.
The layout below may be subject to change but should be helpful for you to know where registration, toilets and start line are located.
See you on Sunday to Run as One in solidarity, friendship and respect
